CoSMO Clinic Information
CoSMO is located at 21 Audubon Ave (map and photo below), a five minute walk from the hospital. It is about a block east of Broadway on Audubon between 166th and 167th. Enter the Urgicare entrance, show the door security your ID, and head left into the Urgicare waiting area. The desk staff or a CoSMO person will let you through the coded door (on your right past the triage desk) and then look around for some friendly people who will show you where we meet before beginning each shift.
Urgicare, which we share clinic space with, is an urgent care clinic in the NYP system that functions as a walk-in clinic for things that are not acute enough to go to the ED. There may be patients for CoSMO and Urgicare waiting outside the door, but please go on in. If the security guards haven’t opened the door yet, or are not in their glass office by the door, they will be there soon.
Worth a brief mention: If you are let in by the guard, but the clinic hasn’t opened yet and patients are still outside, please do not let them in (and ask them to stay outside while you let in other CoSMO folks).
If you are coming to the next clinic and have not already confirmed, please complete the confirmation form ASAP.
Please arrive at the clinic by 5:00 pm. Nursing Associates and the Associate Coordinator should arrive 15 minutes earlier (4:45 pm) to make sure we are prepared to intake patients when the clinic opens. Clinic is usually done by 8:30 pm.
Please arrive at the clinic by 8:30 am. Nursing Associates and the Associate Coordinator should arrive 15 minutes earlier (8:15 am) to make sure we are prepared to intake patients when the clinic opens. Clinic is usually done by 2:30 pm. Reminder: Saturday clinics are now on the Main or 1st floor.
Please dress professionally (no jeans, sneakers). Clinicians should wear their white coats, and should consider bringing their own diagnostic tools if they have them (one or two of the wall-mounted scopes and BP cuffs are not working right now). Please note the descriptions of the positions below. If you are interested in seeing who else will be in clinic for this shift, and who the attending will be, check the volunteer schedule.
Email us at email@example.com if you have any questions, if something unexpected comes up, or if you have any feedback regarding what we could do to better prepare you or make your shift better in the future.
Have a great shift,
